New Players Guide
What is an ARPG?
ARPG stands for 'Art Roleplay Game' - It's a group where members may use art or literature to build their characters and progress them thru the ranks of the game. Or simply explore the world in which reepuls live thru activities like questing, hunting, crafting, breeding, or battles! Everything is play at your own pace, with no specific deadlines - except those included in special monthly prompts or contests.
Earning XP?
Similar to classic RPG games - the characters you create earn XP (experience!) and level up within the game. Your reepuls earn XP every time they are depicted in art or literature - and if that art also shows an 'activity' such as questing/hunting, your reepuls can also earn quest-related loot and rewards!

So what are reepuls?
Reepuls first and foremost, are dragons! In this world, Reepuls are sentient creatures with intelligence rivaling that of humans. They are a diverse and ancient race that once solely dominated the planet - but have since been rivaled by the rapidly growing human population. While many reepuls living today have learned to live peacefully with their human neighbors, many more choose to continue to live in ancient reepuls gatherings hidden away from human eyes.
So far three breeds of Reepuls are known!
Standards:
Standard Reepuls are the most populace. This term refers to the commonly found natural variation of these dragons. They can grow to massive sizes and live hundreds of years, with most individuals ranging 15-30ft in length and standing around 6-12ft tall.
Toys:
Toy Reepuls on the other hand are the result of genetic manipulation by humans. These individuals have been altered to remain smaller than their wild counterparts, in the hopes of keeping these reepuls as pets or domesticated for human use. With an average adult size of around 6-12ft, about the size of a medium to large sized dog (with a really long tail.) Still highly intelligent, these dragons were never deemed 'safe household pets' but can be very loving companions and members of human families they are raised with. While the experiments have now been shut down and deemed immoral, Toys can still be found living within human communities and cities and the breed has also slowly begun to make it's way into more wild populations.
Gliders:
A much more ancient breed of reepuls, gliders were long thought to be extinct. This breed features feathered extremities that allow them to glide for long distances, giving them their name. Now resurfacing, gliders have begun to breed with both standard and toy reepuls, giving them quite a diversity in size and shape.

- Geno:
The term geno refers to a string of genetic information of an undesigned reepuls that shows their gender, breed, coat type, markings, mutations, and stats!
For example:
1) Male - Standard - Standard Coat
Pearl with Cream
Markings: Geode, Bleached, Freckled, Calico
Mutations: -
STATS:
| HP: 44 | STR: 25 | SPD: 26 | DEF: 29 | PER: 44 | VNM: 24 |
The first line tells us the Gender, Breed, and Coat type of our reepuls! The second line shows us the Skin and Coat color. Then we have our lists of Markings and any Mutations, and at last - the reepuls stats! - Import:
Import refers to a designed reepuls that has been approved and uploaded onto the group's database account Nested-Hollows! Imports show off your designed reepuls and keep track of all their progress made in the group! When a geno is used and designed - it becomes an import! - and the geno is considered used.
Link to our import templates: Reepuls Import Templates - Semi-Custom:
Semi-Customs are very much like 'Make Your Owns'. Semi-Customs are sold in special monthly sales and may be used to create a custom reepuls with markings of your choosing, with limits. Semi-Customs do have guidelines to follow on what you can create with them, but you may also add add-ons to your custom to make them even more special if you choose!

Slots are breeding related. After reaching Mature status, every Reepuls has a set amount of breeding slots that may be used by the user, or may be sold to other players to be used in breedings via 'Breeding Permissions' or 'Slot Permissions'. This amount does go up as the Reepuls levels up, giving them more slots as they rank up! You may not breed a reepuls you do not own without a slot permission to that reepuls from their owner!
Similarly, Players also have breeding slots that refresh every month allowing you to take part in, or post up to 3 breedings a month!

The lineage shows a reepuls' parents, grandparents, etc. in a short family tree! It's important to check lineages when preparing to breed, as inbreeding is not allowed in reepuls. The 'Drake' and 'Queen' lines show a reepuls Father and Mother, then with the DD meaning a 'Drake's Drake' and so on!

- Drake/Queen:
These terms refer to a reepuls gender. A male reepuls is called a Drake, and a female reepuls is called a Queen. - Chicks/Litter:
The group term for a batch of reepuls babies is most often called a litter! And reepuls babies themselves are called Chicks! (However, reepuls babies are born live and do not hatch from eggs! As is a common misunderstanding.) - NPC/Starter:
Our group NPCs or Starters are reepuls characters that are owned by the group, (or Kdaea) and used as characters you will interact with thru various quests or sections of the group. They also act as the group 'starters' meaning most reepuls, (unless they are under special circumstances lineagless) will be related to one or more of the starters in some way. When a Semi-Custom is created for example, you will be assigned a lineage with 2 our the group starters in it. Breeding slots to our NPCs may also be purchased in special group sales every month! - XP:
XP or 'experience' is what your reepuls earns every time they are featured in art or literature! As they earn XP, they are able to level up to new ranks and earn new perks!

How do I get a Reepuls?
Reepuls are a closed species owned by Kdaea - Which means you must first obtain permission to create a reepuls, either by getting a semi-custom or geno to work with! They may not be created randomly, or without one of these forms of permission. There are several ways to obtain a reepuls of your very own tho!
- Reepuls Adoption Center:
The adoption center is where members can donate their unused genos to be placed up for adoption! Adopting a geno is free and a great option to start if you're looking to get into reepuls. Please note that your account must be at least a month old to adopt a reepuls, and you may only adopt 1 geno a month! - Semi-Customs:
Semi-Custom sales are held every month on (or around) the 10th day! Keep an eye on the Group News for all upcoming sales. - Breeding:
You may also buy breeding slots from the monthly sales or from other members to try and breed your very own reepuls! Breeding two reepuls together results in genos that may then be designed and used in the group! - Purchasing from a Member:
Many times members will have reepuls genos or imports for sale or trade. You can keep an eye on the Advertisement Journals to see if anyone has any reepuls for sale! You may additionally post a 'looking-for' journal in the advertisements section! Or check out and ask in our Discord chat! - Special Events/Contests:
If you're patient and willing to wait, the group also hosts several contests with Semi-Customs or special reepuls adopts as prizes!

I have a Reepuls, What should I do next?
Great question! The answer is - it's up to you!
- The first thing you may want to do is start leveling up your Reepuls - starting with completing their Life Lessons! Completing these life lessons allows your reepuls to reach their first rank of Mature Status and be open to breeding!
- You may also have your reepuls choose a Specialty class or two! Specialties are the jobs that your reepuls are known for and excel at - such as being a Hunter or a Botanist, or a Healer or Witchdoctor! Many specialties include a form of questing or crafting which are great ways to earn loot and special items in the game!
- Having your reepuls form or join a tribe is another option! Being in a tribe gives a reepuls several bonuses - including earning extra XP in art pieces and having better success rates when questing or bonding with a tribemate!
- There are several other areas to explore within the group including Bonding, Breeding, the Hatchery & Gardens, Companion Care, and our NPC Quests!
